In Australia the electricity supplied by the normal wall inlet is called the "mains power system" and therefore Australia power cords are often referred to as Australia mains leads, Australia mains cords, Australia mains cables,  Australia line cords and Australia mains power leads.

All Australia power cord plugs must contain insulated blades according to the AS3112 power cord plug specifications.

AS 3112 DEFINED:  The AS 3112 Australian power cord plug standard was invented in 1938 and formally adopted in its current definition in 1990.  Live and neutral pins are 17.35mm long, 6.5mm wide and 1.6mm thick and set at 30 degrees from vertical.  They are insulated to 9mm from the plug face to prevent shock from partially inserted plugs.  The ground prong is vertical and longer by almost 3mm than the live and neutral prongs to ensure it gets plugged in first.
