SPDS Quality

Since the focus market for SPDS is OEM, quality is our first and most critical concern.  Our customers can never afford quality issues or production downtime so our devotion to this area in unmatched. 

All manufacturing facilities are ISO 9001-2000 and UL approved. We are very proud to announce that our power cord facility has received the prestigious "Sony Green Partner" certification. Sony has assembled a program to monitor their suppliers in regard to uses of environmentally damaging substances and practices. Sony technical standard SS-00259 sets guidelines and requirements for the control and/or elimination of environmentally damaging substances.

ROHS:
In January of 2003 the European Parliament published standards for the use of certain environmentally hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. SPDS is proud to say that 100% of our facilities fully meet or exceed all of these standards as of November, 2004. One of our facilities has even dedicated two rooms to test for heavy metal content. To the right is a picture of our model 220FS Varian Atomic Absorption Spectrometer and all incoming raw materials are tested for a variety of heavy metals content. Only ROHS compliant materials are accepted and used.

Aging Oven Tester

Molded rubber and plastics are tested to UL specification UL817 to ensure no degredation of materials when subjected to a 96-hour exposure to oxygen pressure of 300 gauge and a temperature of 70°C.

High Voltage Tester

Each cord set and power-supply cord must be able to withstand an introduction of very high voltage without breakdown. The test is conducted by applying a pre-set high voltage between the line conductors, and between each line conductor and grounding conductor.
