AS 3112 DEFINED:  The AS 3112 Australian power cord plug standard was invented in 1938 and formally adopted in it's current definition in 1990.  Live and neutral pins are 17.35mm long, 6.5mm wide and 1.6mm thick and set at 30 degrees from vertical.  They are insulated to 9mm from the plug face to prevent shock from partially inserted plugs.  The ground prong is vertical and longer by almost 3mm than the live and neutral prongs to ensure it gets plugged in first.
